CAMPBELL, Martin B. Martin was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Burke County, GA. He went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 21, 2012 in St. Petersburg surrounded by family members. He was the fourth child and third son of Sidney, Sr., and Viola Lester Campbell. The family relocated to St. Petersburg in 1932. Martin began his formal education in the Pinellas County Public School system, graduating from Gibbs High School in 1948. He graduated from Fisk University in 1952 and the University of Iowa with a degree in Physical Therapy in 1958. Martin served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. His is predeceased by his mother and father; one sister; and four brothers. He is survived by a daughter, Karla Campbell; son, Martin Davis; a brother, Alphonso Campbell (Kathryn); his sisters-in-law, Shirley Bonnitta and Darlene; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation Oct. 26th from 3-8 pm, with the family at 7 pm, Lawson Funeral Home followed by funeral service, Oct. 27 at 1 pm at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel, 4535 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
