Rev. Russell C. CARTER

CARTER, Rev. Russell C. 90, of Tampa, relinquished his worldly body Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 to be with his Lord and his sweetheart, Barbara. Rev. Carter served as a bombardier in the US Navy during WWII. He devoted his adult life to his Lord as an ordained southern Baptist minister; to his wife, Barbara Jean, as a loving husband; and to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as a wonderful example of a strong Christian man. Rev. Carter provided ministry services in Bellingham, WA before returning to Florida to minister in his hometown of Jacksonville, followed by Clermont, and finally Tampa. His dedication to his church members and visitors alike was always forefront, and his focus was to spread the word of God in a pure form, leading those who attended closer to Christ our Savior. He is survived by a brother, Arthur Carter of Seffner; three children, Jean Sinnett of Winter Haven, Bob Carter of Winter Haven, and Jim Carter of Tampa; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
