Trevor G. BEVAN Jr.

BEVAN, Trevor G., Jr., Lt. Colonel USAF (RET.) 93, of St. Petersburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. He was born in Chicago, IL, Nov. 16, 1919. Trevor served 23 years in the Air Force and proudly served his country during WWII in New Guinea and in the Pacific Theatre. After the war ended he returned to the United States where he met and married his wife Regina "Jean". During the Korean War he flew air evacuation of wounded troops back to the states. He had a three year assignment in England and three years teaching ROTC. Toward the end of his career he was trained to fly B-52 bombers. During the Cold War, he carried atomic bombs on secret missions, thankfully, he never had to use them. He had an honorable career in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he and his wife and children moved to St. Petersburg, where Trevor worked 16 years for the State of Florida at the Department of Labor and Employment Security as a Supervisor. Trevor was a devout Catholic and beloved husband and father. Predeceased 3 weeks previously by his wife Jean, whom he couldn't live without; his son, Trevor III and twins, Alice and Louise. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Gloria, Carolyn and Patricia; his sister, Carolyn Lea, extended family, many friends and wonderful caregivers. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at 10 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Entombment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
