William J. "Bill" HUGHES

HUGHES, William J. "Bill", Jr., 85, of Moncton, NB, Canada, a devoted father, grandfather and husband, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late William and Suzanne (Arseneau) Hughes. Bill was retired from Canfor Ltd. with 34 years service. He attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the former UCT, the Air Force Veterans Club, the Moncton Press Club, Club Boishebert, Cap Pele Gun Club, a graduate of Moncton High School, Robinson Business College and the University of Western Ontario. Bill will be sadly missed by his children, Susan Belliveau (Robert), Genevieve Hughes, both of Halifax; Nancy Baglole (Peter), Summerside; Freda MacDonald (Eric), Dartmouth; William III (Arlene), John (Pamela), both of Halifax, Paul (Jane), Dade City, FL, David (Dale), Moncton; 23 grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Smith, Ottawa, Florence Hughes, Montreal, Pauline Hughes, San Diego, CA; several nieces and nephews and partner, Marilyn Boudreau, Moncton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marie (Coholan) Hughes (November 2001); sister, Freda and brother, Paul. Resting at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995), with no public visitation hours by personal request. Funeral Mass at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Dominion St. and Mountain Road, Moncton on Saturday Dec. 8, 2012 at 11 am with Rev. Laurence Quin-Morris officiating. Reception in the Parish Hall following the Mass. Interment, Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In Bill's memory, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or the Dr. Georges-L.
