Fred was a mentor and a friend. He always had all those around him smiling with his stories and his outlook. I can still hear him laugh! God Bless Fred and his family.

Fred was there when I began my 26 years career at the Times. What a gentleman and genuinely nice man. We were the early group and I always enjoyed talking with Fred and getting his advice. I am sad about Fred's passing, but feel honored to have known him.
