Dear Val
Take comfort----Those we love will be reunited in eternity. Doris
May 23, 2011
It was somewhere around "Old Main", or in a "portable" building, or perhaps a room at the Convention Hall where Wayne University commandeer space to accommodate the returning Veterans in the late 40's where I met Frank Kastner. Soon after I met his wife whom he referred to as "Valiant Val". That began a budding friendship that has last all this time.
I remember his first job as Advertising Director of Ferry-Morris Seed Company and his first big hit, "The Dirt Dobber", I believe it was called. It aired on radio at 6:30 AM, and that was before tape delays!
Frank was always the gentleman who loved life and especially that comfortable easy chair and a good book.
It was a real pleasure to know you, Frank, and be able to call you my friend.
God be with you,
Cal Nixon
