I was a classmate and friend of Abby's at the University of Virginia. I always respected and admired his seriousness as a student, as well as his football prowess. I'll remember him twisting himself to get into the tiny M.G. he drove, and his friendliness to all around him. I am so very sorry.

While I did not know him having only read the NY Times appreciation,I extend sympathy to all who loved and knew Abby.I am a new Palm Harbor resident but am very aware of ocean warming and levels rising.I am glad Abby was able to do important work and in view of the recent Sandy storm,get more folks to pay attention. I hope we all do our part to continue Abby's work.
