Cameron and Christy, many years have passed and I still think of your dad often. The day of his funeral, I stopped and bought a pine tree to plant in my yard in remembrance of him. You should see the tree now, it is beautiful. I miss you two and hope life is treating you well. Always in my memories, may God keep you safe. Love Aunt Joanne

Coach Tony,
It has almost been 2 years since that terrible tragedy occurred and I find myself thinking of you and your guiding words of wisdom often. I also understand why the song Let it Be by the Beatles played so much at your funeral. As time passes and I get older and better at hockey I always see you as a Leader, a great cop, A great wife, A great father and an even better coach. God bless you Tony I miss you.

Hey Coach,
It's been 239 days since you died and I have thought of you every day. I wear the shark tooth necklaceyou gave me for scoring a goal in the Thanksgiving tournament in Miami 2 years ago. I did Cross country again, and I made it to the Varsity Regional meet as and 8th grader going against seniors in high school. I got 47th place. I am a nationally ranked runner for my age in a 5k. I trained non stop only thinking about how much you would like me to if you were still here. Through that training, I got a 17:58 5k time. Over the summer I ran in the junior olympics and placed 22 nd in the nation in the 2 mile and in the 4x800 my team got 18th in the nation. I try to do the famous " Tony pushups" every night but I just cant get as good as you. You would be proud of me because I did 12 pull-ups last night but I am still trying to reach your best. I am glad to tell you that I straightened out my attitude and I am now a "good" child. I am currently playing on the bantam AA scorpians and Im playing defense because whenever we were in an important game you would put me on "d". I really miss you. You were my hero amd you still are. I still havent found someone that could ever replace you. You once told me that school comes first and now it does. I have been studting and trying sooo hard to get all A's. No matter what I do, no one calls me "studly" any more. I am currently going to church every week because you inspired me to. I dont know if you heard but John is up in Vermont at his boarding school. He likes it there. he made the Varsity hockey team up there. I really miss you. Although some people might have forgot about you , but I havnt and never will.

Miss you lots,
Justin Scoby

Dear Coach Tony's Family,
It has been 93 days since you have passed away and those 93 days have been awful without you. Not a day has gone by that I havn't thought about you. I now go to church as much as possible now thanks to you bringing me back to the Lord. You have always been a hero to me and two months to the day after I had heard about your death, I was baptised at a beach with my church. You have left a big whole in my life and i believe that you will hear about this this and you will send somone to try and take your place. But there is one problem. that person isn't you.
You are still loved and missed,

Coach what you did for me cannot be described in words. When I had heard you passed I was in disbelief but after putting in deep thought and realized you taught me how to deal with things, or as you would have said "It is what it is". To Cameron and family: Tony loved all of you each of you were in his stories, my best wishes and love is with you. I love you coach and I always will. God bless you.

Tony was my neighbor and best friend at the University of Florida. We were inseparable for more than a year. Time would not allow it to remain so. I went to work for the Alachua County Sheriff's Office and Tony left for the St. Petersburg Police Department. The calendar became our enemy. We lost track of each other.

Decades later the news of his death has arrived with a greater impact than I had imagined possible. Flashes of a fantastic bond and the best of times have fought their way to the surface. I am haunted by the time lost and will be forever saddened by his death.

It saddens me I had so little time to get to know Tony. But in the short time I knew him, I saw a man of great wisdom, integrity and conviction. Tony will be sorely missed by all who knew him. May we all carry on following the example he set for us. My deepest condolences to Laurie, Christi, and Cam. God be with you all.

Dear Laurie, Christi, & Cameron--I am so saddened for your loss.....Tony was such a Fine Man, loving Husband & Father, police officer, coach, soldier, mentor...the list goes on. We first met at the Univ. of Florida through a mutual friend, Deputy Boyd Freemon, who inspired Tony to become a police officer. Years later we reunited as friends @ TBSA where we both coach ice hockey. Tony's eagerness to learn the game and teach/coach was always done with great zeal and vigor, and he was such a great role model for many young players--including his own son, Cam. Tony will always be remembered for his love, compassion, leadership...but, mostly for his friendship. I'll miss him dearly...not only was he was one of St. Petersburg's Finest...he was Finest Kind. God Bless You All.

Dear Laurie, Christi, Cam and family…We are deeply saddened by your loss and our prayers are with you all. Nick, Marti, Loralee and I met Tony as “Coach Tony” for the Hawks Ice Hockey Team. His passion for the kids as well as his positive coaching style was of tremendous inspiration to anyone who shared in this experience. Always positive, supportive, and energetic…as one of the hockey dads, I was privileged to assist him with coaching the Team as best I could. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and positive attitude will remain with all the kids he coached – on and off the ice. He obviously touched the lives of many, many people and will be greatly missed.

My son Logan and I have known the true pleasure of having Coach Tony in our lives over the past few years. The kindness, encouragement and thoughtful guidance he extended my son will be forever appreciated and never forgotten.
When you talk about or imagine a suitable role model for whom your growing kids can relate, Tony had to have been the perfect example.
Tony – Logan will deeply miss your coaching, mentoring friendship and amazing stories. We will both sadly miss seeing you but know that you continue to inspire us and are always carried in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Coach Roberto Anthony Rolon,

You will forever be an inspiration to myself and the team. I only wish we could've heard another one of your famous stories. I know that not only for me but for others that we lost the best man in the world and now we all are lost.

I now feel like there is a hole in our team that could never be filled in. We will continue winning on one main reason. For you. You will never be forgotten.

As for me I heard at 10:53 last night and cried all night and into the morning. You shall forever be missed. I wish you could see this.
