Hi George - I'm thinking of you today. I miss you as you were a dear friend of mine. Even though we didn't work together we never thought of each other as competitors in the business of banking. I always thought very highly of you and still remember my first impression as Pat and I walked into the First National Bank of Clearwater.
Fondly,
Harold Korb

I left Florida over a decade ago, and am sorry to say I lost touch with many of my old FNBofC friends and co-workers from years ago. Got to thinking about some of them, looked up a few to see where and how they are. Knew it was quite possible that George Hardy was gone. I worked at FNBofC for almost 10 years, had a crush on him for most of that time! Ha! He was the ultimate gentleman, ultimately conservative at work, at least, but I never heard ANYone speak a bad word about him! I was his admin assistant for a while after Jay Tanner left, and I'm sure more than the occasional thorn in his side, as I was as irreverant as he was not! I enjoyed bumping into him here and there after I moved on and he retired. Always a smile on his face and always good for a quick, ever so sweet hug!!! I'm sure he's missed! Bev (Grogan) Crosby

Our condolences to Mrs. Hardy, Bob, Chip and families.
George Hardy was a very pleasant and wonderful man and neighbor. He taught me the importance of being on time because he couldn't wait for Bob and me when he would drop us off at H.S. every day in his early 60's VW bug. I'll always remember him quietly and diligently working on his orchids and later during visits home woodworking in his garage. We always had to come over to see his latest creation. We will miss him.

My heart goes out to Hen-T, Chip and Bob on the loss of their husband and father. The Hardy's have great friends to my family since 1955. We will miss George, but will carry his gentle strength and goodness in our hearts always. George Hardy was a wonderful and generous man.

My husband and I down through the years had the pleasure of getting to know George and Hank while at Heritage Village activities. George was a reliable, dedicated volunteer; contributed with his business acumen to the Society's financial activities; always with congenial, friendly manners. We will miss him.

My wife Drucilla and I have known George and Hank for many years as members of Clearwater Yacht Club. It was always a pleasure to meet George, Hank, and their friends in the dining room. I will always remember George as a fellow sailor, for the advice he has given me, and as a good friend. I shall miss him. Hank, George & Betty, Robert & Sharie, my prayers are with you.

George was truly a class act whose life examples of dignity, honor and respect were inspirational to me and my family. He was truly one of my greatest mentors. Rest in peace, my great friend, until we meet again.
