Harold took over managing my pony league baseball team when I was 13. Our previous coaches had to quit when our team was 0-6, so Harold volunteered. We started his 1st game down 7-0 but at some point we started to hit. We won that game, our first, and went on to finish the season's 1st half respectably. Then we finished the 2nd half in 1st place! When I asked some forty years later, he told me he made us use lighter bats, and just made a few extra changes. Don't tell me the manager doesn't matter. Thanks, Dad

I'm emailing from Canada but wanted to say that I had contacted Hal over thirty years ago and at that time he answered questions regarding the time he'd spent in baseball. That year Hal had pitching for St. Petersburg in the Florida International League was a good one (20-7).
