Obituary

PHILLIPS, Allen Bart (Phil or Papa), 95, of Tampa, passed away on Feb. 6, 2014. He was born in Tampa on Aug. 15, 1918 to the late Marica and Adolph Bartolo Filogamo. He graduated from Hillsborough High School. He married the late Ruth Adele Roberts on Sept. 8, 1940. He was blessed to have a second loving wife, Eloise Lynn on April 13, 1996. Phil served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Snap On Tools after 33 years of service. He was active in the Tampa community in the Keystone United Methodist Ch-urch, a square dance caller in the Tampa area, a member of the American Legion, Italian Club and local AARP officer. Phil is survived by three children, Robert Phillips of Johns Creek, GA, Larry Phillips of Odessa, and Ann Patterson of Land O'Lakes; six grandchildren, Diane Burgess, Scott Phillips, Suzy Bump, Christi Reinhart, Sharon Phillips and Monica Laffler. He also leaves behind 12 loving great-grand-children. A viewing will be held at Blount & Curry Carrollwood Chapel, Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 from 6-8 pm. The funeral will take place at Keystone United Methodist Church, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11 am, with the burial immediately following. www.blountcurrycarrollwood.com
