BUESCHER, Audrey G. On Friday, June 7, 2013, Audrey Buescher passed away peacefully at the retirement community, Goodwin House of Alexandria, VA, at the age of 89, after several years of illness. Her family is thankful for Audrey's long life, for fond memories of time spent together, and for opportunities of recent precious moments with her. Audrey was born in Arlington, MA, on Nov. 1, 1923 and was the only child of Joseph & Aurora Gosselin. Her family moved south in St. Petersburg in 1936 due to illness of her father, where Audrey graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1941. Audrey and her husband of 56 years, deceased Navy Cdr. Joseph Buescher, married in 1943. While Joe was on active duty in the Navy, they enjoyed living throughout the United States in Groton, CT, Key West, Newport, RI, San Diego, CA, Honolulu, HI, and Washington, DC. Upon Joe's retirement in 1985, Audrey achieved her long-term dream of moving back to Florida when they moved to Sarasota. While in Sarasota, she enjoyed daily morning walks on Siesta Beach, supported St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister and their community outreach programs, and visits from her children & grandchildren. In 2003, Audrey moved to the Goodwin House where she continued to enjoy walking and contributing to her new community. While there, she was a member of the Flower Committee creating numerous flower arrangements which were displayed & enjoyed throughout the Goodwin House. Audrey was the loving mother of Joseph Jr., John, Steve, and Karen B. Lewis; grandmother of Monica Donaldson, Joseph Anthony, Charles Lewis III, Kelly Lewis Sellers, and Ryan; great-grandmother of Declan Donaldson. The family will hold a memorial Mass in the Chapel at the Goodwill House at 4800 Fillmore Ave, Alexandria, VA, on Saturday, June 22nd, at 2 pm, immediately followed by a reception. Interment will be at St. Petersburg Memorial Park, 5750 49th St. North, St. Petersburg, on Sunday, June 23rd, 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the , P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
