Obituary

BAKER, Bennie W. 83, went home to be with his Lord & Savior on March 12, 2013. He pastored several Southern Baptist churches in the central Florida area. He was also a faithful servant of several ministries including Chaplain of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office & the Bethany Baptist Church Food Pantry. These ministries served as pathways for him to witness to others & share the good news of Jesus to everyone he came in contact with. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Baker; children, Becky Mullis (Terry) of Lakeland, Krista Beauchamp (Johnnie) of Plant City, and Larry Baker (Shannon) of Lakeland; sister, Anna Crenshaw of Wildwood, and Lottie Connell of Jacksonville; 7 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, March 15th, 6-8 pm at Bethany Baptist Church, 3409 Cork Road, Plant City, where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 10 am.
