COLES, Doris H. 79, of New Port Richey, passed away Feb. 18, 2010, following a brief illness. Doris cared for others as a professional nurse for 40 years. Her career consisted of 29 years at Salem County Memorial Hospital (Salem, NJ), and 11 years at PSE&G (Hancocks Bridge, NJ). Additionally, in retirement she served as an active volunteer for Community Hospital in New Port Richey, providing over 2900 hours of dedicated service over the past 14 years. She was known for her caring and professional demeanor throughout those many years of nursing. Doris enjoyed pursuing genealogy research, and was a member of numerous genealogical societies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Coles, Sr., in 1979; her father Norman Brown, and brother Robert K. Brown. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Irma and Frank Humphreys (New Port Richey); her daughter Mary-Louise Lindsay (Pennsville, NJ), and her son Bob Coles (Debbie) of Williamsburg, VA. Also surviving are her much-loved granddaughters Hannah M. Coles and Kristen N. Simmons. Other close surviving relations are her brother Norman H. Brown (LeHigh Acres); sisters Irma Cavender and Katheryn Maddocks (both of Pennsville, NJ), and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date, in Pennsville, NJ. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Community Hospital Volunteer Inc. attn: Volunteer Service, 5637 Marine Parkway, New Port Richey, FL 34652 or to Memorial Hospice 390 North Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070.
