Dear Bootie and Joe Joe, You may not remember me but I was very close to your Mom and Dad growing up. Your Mom was so very nice and she treated me like a daughter. I am so sorry for your loss. With deepest sympathy, Linda "Tamney" Richardson

Dear "Booty" and "JoeJoe,"
It was with extreme sadness that I read your mother's obituary in the Times. She had a flair for fashion like no other plus she was always the life of the party. I still remember the wonderful gift she gave me for high school graduation -- matching gloves and a purse, white with red polka dots -- all the rage in 1962. I treasured that set for a long time eventually wearing it out before gloves went out of style.
Over the years I went to your mother for advice for those things I could not (or would not) ask my own mother. After Mama died so suddenly in 1979 I could not have coped without Aunt Elaine nearby. She was my rock when my world seemed to be disintegrating.
I am truly glad she lived a good long time and I hope the last years with you both and your families were healthy and happy. You all have my sincerest condolences.
Much love, Genie
