CARDWELL, Eleanor Needles Chapin 75, of Pensacola, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Eleanor was born on Feb. 3, 1936, in Detroit, MI and graduated from St. Petersburg High School in St. Petersburg, and received her degree from the University of West Florida, Pensacola. She was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Kappa Alpha Theta, Pensacola Junior League and the Pensacola Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husbands, LeRoy West Chapin and George R. Cardwell; a daughter, Janet L. Chapin and her parents, Dr. Robert J. and Irene Needles. Survivors include her son, Jack Chapin (Stacy); daughter, Judy Wade (Joe); granddaughter, Brittany Klein-Burson (John); sister, Susan Needles Schlecht and 3 nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10 am Monday, June 27, 2011, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Talking Books of West Florida Regional Library, 5740 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504 or to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504. Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504 is in charge of arrangements.
