DIACO, Elizabeth passed away peacefully on April 10, 2013, at Brookside Hospice in Palm Harbor. She is survived by her sister, Virginia DeCaro; her sons, Joseph F. Diaco, M.D. and Nicholas V. Diaco, M.D.; and her daughter, Elizabeth Arthur; grandchildren, Daniel Diaco, M.D., Stephen Diaco, J.D., Joseph Diaco, Jr., J.D., Brian Arthur, J.D., Scott Arthur, J.D., Nicole Diaco, A.A.S; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas Diaco, Isabella Diaco, Joseph Diaco III, Sofia Diaco, Daniel Diaco Jr., and Sage Diaco. Elizabeth Diaco traveled with her family from Italy to America when she was 14 years old. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA, where she raised her 3 children. She ultimately opened a successful business which she ran for over 4 decades at a time when very few women owned & operated businesses. Elizabeth stressed family, education and community service her whole life. All of her children and grandchildren pursued higher education and graduate degrees. Elizabeth was beautiful inside and out. She lit up any room she entered and could relate with anyone she met from the President to the doorman. This Italian immigrant became a proud U.S. citizen who contributed mightily to the Country that welcomed her and provided so much opportunity to her grateful family. She had the fullest life and will be missed by her family and friends as she was such a big force in all of their lives until she met her Lord and Savior. Visitation will be Friday, April 12th, 5 pm, with service to follow at 6 pm, both at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave, Tampa. Entombment will be private.
