Elizabeth Kuba Obituary

KUBA, Elizabeth Renfro 89, of Palm Harbor, passed away on June 11, 2011. Loving wife and mother, she was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Lebanon, KY, only child of Elizabeth Dant, accomplished artist, and Richard H. Renfro. She worked in New York City as a lab technician at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and as a model in the fashion industry. A former resident of Columbus, OH, she was a member of the Columbus Figure Skating Club; Kingston, NY, where she was a member of the Hillside Acres Garden Club; and Sarasota, FL. She was a member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, Safety Harbor. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Dr. Richard E. Kuba, Ph.D., electrical engineering, who enjoyed a decades-long career at IBM, Kingston, NY, and passed away in 1996. She is survived by her 4 loving daughters, Patricia Wightman (Michael) Safety Harbor, Diane Burkard (Peter) Sarasota, Kathryn Dandurand (Louis) Montgomery, VT, Carol Anne Kuba, Clearwater; 3 grandchildren, Lindsay Wightman, Kai and Jade Dandurand; and loving friends Carole Maines and Mae La Mot. A funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Lebanon, KY, with burial at Ryder Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Suncoast Hospice Brookside, 164 West Lake Rd., Palm Harbor, FL, 34684. www.curlewhills.com
