Frank Pisani Obituary

PISANI, The Rev. Dr. Frank Warren, 83, of La Grange, N.C., died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at SunBridge Rehabilitation Center. Frank was born in San Francisco to the late Jack and Zillah Pisani. Frank graduated from the University Of California at Berkeley and then served as a first lieutenant during World War II in Patton's Third Army. Following his military service, Frank attended Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Va. After graduation, Frank was rector at The Church of the Holy Comforter in Tallahassee, Fla. Later, he served as the associate dean at Virginia Theological Seminary and then as president of St. Mary's College in Raleigh. Following his service at St. Mary's he served on staff at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. He was rector at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Surfside Beach, S.C. After Frank's retirement to La Grange, he served as rector of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church for 10 years. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church with the Rt. Rev. Clifton Daniel III, the Rev. Tommy Tipton and the Rev. Edward Kelaher officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Cemetery. Frank is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sara Frances Walters Pisani; two daughters, Caroline Pisani Bell and husband, Thomas, of Goldsboro, N.C., and Sara Alice Pisani of Tampa; son, John Franklin Pisani of Tampa; brother, Richard Pisani of San Rafael, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Bell. Memorials may be made to Episcopal Relief & Development, 1815 Second Ave., New York, NY 10017. Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.

As a member of the Holy Comforter family for more than 15 years, I did not know Fr. Pisani personally, but knew of his contributions to our church. My prayers will be with his family.
