DONALDSON, George 87, of Seminole, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. George was born on Aug. 28, 1923 in Clydebank, Scotland. He moved to this area in 1976 from Syracuse, NY. George was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving both during WWII and the Korean War. George was last employed by Florida Steel Corp. and was in structural steel management most of his working years. George was also an active volunteer with many organizations and helped to feed the hungry, clothe the homeless and find shelter for those abandoned and left battered. George was an active member of Seminole First Baptist Church for over 30 years. George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Donaldson of Seminole; two sons, Roger (Jennifer) Donaldson of Karlstad, Sweden and Kenneth Lee of Seminole; three grandchildren, Christoffer (Tove), Eric (Nadia) and Hannah, all of Sweden. George was also seen as "father" and "grandpa" to the many Asian war refugees he sponsored over the years, especially with "grandchildren" Tiffany Chuk, Angela Chuk and Eric Chuk. George was also involved in numerous local, domestic and international organizations. Memorial contributions may be offered to either The Bay Area Pregnancy Center or Feeding America. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at Seminole First Baptist Church in Seminole. Burial with military honors will follow at Garden Sanctuary Cemetery.
