MILLER, Jack R. better known as Pop-Pop, son of Ret. Major Jack and Margarette Miller Born Feb. 23, 1944 passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Aug. 2013. Jack was a 1963 graduate of Northeast High School where he was the Heavyweight City Wrestling Champion, and a six year veteran of the Air Force during the Vietnam War leaving the Air Force as a Staff Sargent in 1970. He served proudly and retired from the United States Postal Service after 22 years as Letter Carrier in 1992. A longtime beloved football coach for the Northeast Junior Vikings, girls softball coach at Meadowlawn Little League and boys baseball at Fossil Park Little League, he enjoyed teaching and mentoring young people. Jack loved his lake house in Byrdstown, Tennessee, commuting between there and Palm Harbor, Florida growing his own vegetables, watching the Tampa Bay Rays, and providing an endless supply of bubblegum to his grandchildren. Jack is survived by his loving wife Louise of 34 years; sons, John, Jim & Mike; daughter, Christine; grandchildren, Tamie, Amber, Lizzy, Karelyn, Jacob, Dylan, Jackelyn, Joy & Sidney; and great-grandson, Connor. The services for Jack will be held on Aug. 29th, 2013 at 10:45 at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard, Bay Pine, FL. Love you Pop!
