FISHER, Kenneth G. Sr. 84, of Tampa, and formerly of Fort Myers, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013. Ken was born July 26, 1928, to Francis and Blanche (Gartin) Fisher in St. Joseph, MO. He moved with his family to Florida during his youth. He graduated from Jesuit High School (Tampa) in 1946, earning academic, athletic & community recognition. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Served in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Basilone and then held the post of Naval Exchange Officer, Key West Naval Station. Ken's career spanned sales positions at Burroughs Corporation, partnership at Taylor, Edenfield, Gilliam and Wiltshire, and independent CPA practice in Fort Myers. Ken loved to spend time with his family & friends. He enjoyed fishing, boating and scuba diving. He was actively involved in Kiwanis and held leadership positions for the Lee County Mental Health Center, St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, and Bishop Verot High School. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Dennis Fisher. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Kathy Fisher Fawcett; his sons, Ken Fisher Jr. and Casey Fisher; daughters-in-law, Julie (Dean) Fisher & Sarah (Kronsnoble) Fisher; his grandchildren, Stephanie & Charlie Fisher, Nathan & Adam Fisher, and Meagan Fawcett; and sisters, Marjorie Fisher and Rosemary Fisher. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 13th, 3 pm at the Blount & Curry Carrollwood Chapel. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
