CAPITANO, Mary Pizzo 100, of Tampa, passed away Dec. 18, 2012. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mary was a 50 year member of the Optimist Club, & a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She will always forever be remembered for her thoughtfulness, generosity, kindness and inner strength. Her passion in life was putting other's needs in front of her own. Her creative talents such as cooking, sewing, and floral design were masterful. She was an educator without a degree. May God bless all who knew her and loved her. Her love & devotion for her family was unconditional. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Capitano; brother, John Pizzo; sister, Lee Paladine; survived by her loving family, daughters, Rosalie C. (Joe) Rowe, Emily C. (Al) Barnes, and Dolores C. (Bobby) Lastra; sisters, Jennie Aprile, and Angela Foglia, Milton, NY; grandchildren, Joseph (Jolene) Rowe, Jr., David (Amanda) Rowe, Craig (Tamara) Rowe, Gina Cacciatore, Michael A., and Christopher J. Barnes, & Lana (Michael) Vargo; great-grandchildren, Juliann, Joseph, III, Anson, Marshall, Monica, Nicole, Trey, Dylan, & Steven; and many loving nephews, nieces, and other loving family members and friends. Special thanks to Beth Montevirgen for her love and special care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday afternoon, December 21, at 2 o'clock at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Ave, with Monsignor Laurence E. Higgins, P.A., Pastor Emeritus, officiating, Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Craig, David, & Joseph Rowe Jr., Michael A., and Christopher J. Barnes, and Michael Vargo.
