KOSCHO, Raymond Andrew of St. Petersburg, fell asleep in the Lord's hands on April 18, 2011. Born in Braddock, PA, on Sept, 11, 1938, he grew up surrounded by the love of his family, outside of Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Patricia; 4 sons, Ray, Chris, Kenn and spouse Kristin, Steve and spouse Adi, with his pride and joy; daughter Mary and spouse Dan, also 8 grandchildren; his loving sister Margaret Ferencz and family; brother-in-law George Miller and family; and sister-in-law Gabriella Koscho and family, along with many truly beloved friends. Raymond retired with 22 years in the United States Navy, stationed in Washington DC, San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, and Philadelphia. Following retirement, he earned a Bachelors degree from the University of South Florida and achieved his educational dream, by attending the prestigious "Bobby Bowden's" Florida State University, where he earned a Masters of Clinical Social Work. To those of you who don't know, our dad and Coach Bobby Bowden were brothers, although Bobby is still somewhat, unaware of that fact. He felt what Bobby felt, cheering on every win and bleeding garnet and gold during every loss. He began employment at Bay Pines VA HCS and Columbia Health System, and finally selecting the Pinellas County Schools System for a second career of selfless service, retiring with 23 years of serving those in most need. He soon became licensed in Clinical Social Work and Psychotherapy, where he received many honors, awards, and certifications, where he was recognized as a leader among his field He successfully opened his own private practice, which flourished, in conjunction with his career in the Pinellas County School System. The passion which fueled his success overflowed into his personal life where he assisted, guided and advised anyone in need. Our father was a great man, who has been defined by his love, dedication and devotion to God, family, country, and his life. Born and raised in the Byzantine Catholic Church, his understanding and faith of the teachings of the church, provided a wealth of enlightenment to all who were blessed to meet him. He was an active and faithful parishioner of St. Therese Byzantine Catholic Church for 34 years, where he served as a Cantor and was also active as a member of the Knights of Columbus. There was always a special place in his heart for all of his brothers at K of C council 5131. Raymond was a very kind and open person somehow finding time for everyone, even if it was under the famous "Koscho" time. He had a solution to every problem and had ways of making the most difficult task seem simple. To those of you who knew our father, he was steadfast and stubborn in his convictions. We guess you could say our dad was a bit opinionated and as much as we don't want to admit it, he was just always right. A true Patriarch, there should be more men, more husbands, more fathers, and more friends like him in the world. Our dad sounds larger than life, because he was, not only to us, but to all who knew him. He gave everything of himself to everyone, especially to his family. It was apparent to everyone that the most important thing our father had, was his family. He could make you feel as though you owned the world with a look or a simple gesture. His ever lasting devotion, love, and care were unconditional for his wife, family, friends, colleagues, and clients. We promise to continue the teachings you and mom have instilled and we will spend a lifetime encouraging and supporting those as you did, to the very end. Dad, we know we will see you again, and our souls will unite for an eternity together in heaven, but not just yet. In the meantime, please continue to guide us and watch over us. The strength of your love for God, family, and country is firmly grounded and deeply instilled within us. We will carry out your teachings, values, and unconditional love, for generations to come. We know you are in heaven singing and bragging to all who will listen, about your numerous adventurous experiences, how beautiful mom is, how proud you are of us, and how happy you are with your grandchildren, nieces and nephews. You will always be remembered and you will always live in our hearts. We love you so much and we miss you immensely, but knowing, you will be with us into eternity. What a legend you have become, what a legacy you have left behind. One last thing our dad wanted to express, shouting from every roof top and especially to all of you Gator fans out there, GO NOLES!!!! ~Seneca~ The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity.
