GREGG, Richard 88, of Treasure Island, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park. Richard was born in Marion, IN, on Sept. 17, 1923 to William and Pauline Gregg. He graduated from Danville High School in Danville, IL, in June of 1941 and the University of Wisconsin. Dick enlisted into the Army and was part of the Yankee Division that came ashore on Utah Beach. Richard is survived by his niece Susan Bihm (Steve), from Louisiana and nephew Richard Gregg, from Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and William and his brother, William. Upon his father's retirement in 1956, the family moved to Treasure Island where Richard began his long career with the Pinellas County School System. Richard became Principal of Parkland School and then oversaw the move from Parkland to Nina Harris in 1980. He retired from Nina Harris in 1994. He will be forever remembered for his strong leadership and for his caring and compassion of students with special needs. A graveside gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 12, 10:30, at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park
