CARTAGENA, Roberto 85, of Tampa, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22,2013. He was born in Coamo, PR on Feb. 4, 1928 to his parents Norberto Cartagena and Juana Rivera. He married his wife, Carmen Lydia Cartagena, on January 17, 1953 in Chicago, IL. Roberto was a Korean War Army Veteran, and was always proud to have served his country. Roberto will be remembered as a family man who would always gave his blessings when greeting his loved ones. He was always in great spirits, loved sharing jokes, and stories from his past. He had a passion for antique cars, and enjoyed working on them. His wife of 61 years, Carmen Lydia Cartagena; two sons, Robert Cartagena and Luis Cartagena; five grandchildren; and 11 great -grandchildren survive him. A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 from 3-5 pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N 56th St., Temple Terrace. A mass will be given on Monday, Dec. 30 at 10 am. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A graveside Service will be followed at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
