BANWART, Sally Foss a true lady who travels, made her final journey on May 28, 2013 in Clearwater, FL; a journey that began in Detroit, MI on July 16, 1930. Along the way she graduated from Hood College, and then went on to Iowa State University, where she received her Master's Degree in Home Economics, and met her future husband, George Banwart who preceded her in death. Sally is survived by her daughter, Deborah, and her husband, Boyd Lewis; her son, Geoffrey, and his wife, Rose Banwart as well as their daughters, Kimberly and Christina. She is also survived by her sisters, Jo Middlestead and Harriette Hafer. Sally leaves behind many friends who will miss her; her best friend Coral, the "Hoodlums": Barb, Betsy, Emma, Mary Lou and Schoe, and many wonderful friends from Worthington, OH. Also remaining behind is Nancy Hatfield, an honorary "Hoodlum" and one who aspires to be "a lady who travels". The family & Nancy would like to thank the staff of Horizon Bay Memory Care Unit for their patience, kindness, and gentle care of Sally as the darkness of Alzheimer's disease descended upon her sunny personality. Also, a special thanks to the nurses of Suncoast Hospice for helping us and Sally prepare for her final journey. A celebration of Sally's life will be held on July 6 at First United Methodist Church of Dunedin. The service will begin at 11 am with a reception immediately following in the church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sally's name to Heifer Project International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock, AR 72202, www.heifer.org. Arrangements made by Moss Feaster, with private interment at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Gardens. A full obituary may be accessed at www.mossfeasterpalmharbor.com and online condolences may be written.
