THANGARAJ, Siddharth A. "Sid" beloved son of Uma Thangaraj and Calvin King passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2013. Sid, 26 years of age, was born in Madras, India. He grew up to be a bright, passionate, perceptive and charismatic young man whose smile held the warmth of a thousand suns. Sid's first word as a baby was "No" - and rightfully so. He was a master debater and if he were not pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he would have made a great lawyer. Sid fiercely and deeply loved his family and friends. He also loved science, literature, robotics, animals, high tech gadgetry, soccer, biking, mentoring kids, video games, his motorcycle and tinkering with his car. Sid always led with his cavernous heart and it held a special place for big and small cats and reptiles. His premature departure has left a void that can never be filled. He is survived by his parents, his sister Samya, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and numerous other family members. A memorial service will be held at noon on Sunday, June 30 at Gee and Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Avenue N, St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made "In memory of Sid Thangaraj" to The Big Cat Rescue:http://bigcatrescue.org/ (attn: Jeff Kremer) or mailed to The Big Cat Rescue, attn: Jeff Kremer, 12802 Easy Street, Tampa, FL 33625.
