WILSON, William L. age 85, passed away on May 12, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of Plant City, born on Collins St. on Feb. 4, 1928. He married Betty (Hennecy), who survives. A graduate of Plant City High School in 1946, William entered the United States Air Force & served for 21 plus years, including service in the Korean conflict. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Before and after his Air Force and business career, he worked at Knotts Trading Post for 3 generations of the Knotts family. Bill was a lifelong Methodist & a member of the First United Methodist Church of Plant City where he was a volunteer with the Young at Heart Group, & sang in the choir for several years. He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Betty Wilson; children, William (Mickey) Wilson (Lorraine), Emily A. Smith; his grandchildren, George Wilson (Christine), Abigail Wilson, Ashlee Smith, Alexis & John Adams; two brothers, James, and Robert Wilson; a sister, Barbara Cannon; several nieces & nephews; sister-in-law, Barbara Bartlett; brothers-in-law, John Hennecy (Vicki), and Michael Hennecy (Dianne). He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas R. and Mildred (Goheen) Wilson; and his sister, Nellie Wilson. A memorial service for William will be held on Monday, May 20th, 10 am, at Wells Memorial & Event Center, with visitation half-hour prior.
