McGOFF, William Leslie

53, was taken suddenly from us Sunday, December 11, 2016. Leslie is preceded in death by parents, Bill and Betty McGoff. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Narmore (Gary), Kathy House (Larry); beloved nieces and nephews, Chris Patterson, Jeremy Patterson, Greg and Kim Patterson, Audrey and Wade Smith, Katie and Blake Shelby, Ryan and Christa House, Titus Smith, Alice Smith; his Hi Lie and hospice families; and countless other loved ones who were his second family. Special thanks to his best friend, Mary Scannell. Leslie was born in Tuscumbia, AL October 17, 1963. He moved to Tampa in 1995. He became a loved member of his community. He continuously dedicated his time to helping others. Leslie inspired laughter and warmth, and had the ability to make everyone feel welcome, accepted and at ease. His hugs were legendary. Leslie embodied Kindness and Grace. There will be a celebration of Leslie's Life held at Peninsular Christian Church on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2 pm. The Family requests that you go forth like Leslie, embracing and loving all. Instead of grieving, bestow Grace and Hospitality to everyone you meet and strengthen those who need it most.

Leslie was my neighbor when i was a little girl. I saw him last as a 19 year old still the same sweet Leslie. I am now 28 and think of him often. He was the most sweetest and loving person I´ve ever known. So open to everyone, so inviting, most importantly he treated everyone on our block with love. It hurts a lot to visit my family and look across the street knowing he´s not there. We miss you so much Leslie, thank you for being there for us!!

So grateful to have known someone so fun loving and kind. I worked with him at hospice and he was always willing to help! I remember my first day working with him that he told me a joke and I laughed...he told me I could stay. I will not forget him.

The last time I saw Leslie was his last shift in the ER at TGH...many many years ago. We hugged each other and I told him to take care of himself. I remember him as being fun...kind...to the point. I remember that evening as if it were yesterday. I know he will be missed......
