ATKINSON, Thomas Hyram, 82, died September 9, 2010, at his residence in Stuart, Fla. Mr. Atkinson was born in Bushnell, Fla., previously lived in Tampa, before relocating to Stuart, five years ago. He was a mechanic for Cone Brothers and Trailways Bus Lines for twenty years, as well as a machinist for Tampa Ship and Drydock, Devalle, and International Ship. Mr. Atkinson is survived by his son, Larry Atkinson of Stuart; son, Dale (Denise) Atkinson of Stuart; four grandchildren, Lane, Richard, Kristen and Brice; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and McKenzie; brothers, James, Kenneth and Glen; and sisters, Alice, Pauline, Laura and Sarah. He was predeceased by his son, Jerry Atkinson; great- grandson, Blane Thomas Atkinson; and his sisters, Dorothy, Kathy and Geraldine. A visitation will take place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2010, with services to begin at 1 p.m. at Aycock Funeral Home, Stuart. Interment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, in Stuart.
