SULLIVAN, Clark 88, of Largo, passed away on June 6, 2013 at the Bay Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katheryne "Katie" Sullivan, and a daughter, Louise K. Sullivan. Clark is survived by his son, Ralph C Sullivan of Boston; his daughter, Lyle Sullivan of Wilmington, NC; son, Stephen Sullivan (wife Rhea), of Minneapolis. He leaves five grandchildren, to whom he was known as "PawPaw". His nephews, Richard A. Sullivan (wife Sophie) of Chicago, IL and Bryce F. Sullivan (wife Beth) of Nashville, TN were like sons to him. Clark was born in Chicago and in his teens became an Eagle Scout. He joined the Navy in 1942, serving as a submariner in the South Pacific. He married in 1946, and moved to Chicago, where he completed a BS in Physics from Northwestern University. Next, they settled in Battle Creek, Michigan where he became Vice President of Operations for the Sullivan Milk Products Company. He also worked in the insurance industry and as a Chamber of Commerce executive. In his community he was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Kiwanis and the Episcopal Church. Never shy, Clark loved to entertain throughout his life. As retirees, Clark and Katie cruised the world together. Clark became a "Friend of Bill" in 1982. Over the course of more than 30 years he helped hundreds of others work their way through the Twelve Steps of AA. The celebration for his life will be held at 2 pm on June 22nd at the Serenity Club, 631 Turner St, Clearwater, FL 33756. In lieu of flowers, please send your donation to the Serenity Club.
