SOLIS, Ramon 77, of Clearwater, passed away Friday March 7, 2014. He was born in Buenaventura, Chihuahua, Mexico and lived in Mexico City for several years before moving to Clearwater in 1978. In 2010, Ramon retired as Principal Planner for the Pinellas County Department of Planning, Clearwater after a 30 year career. He was a parishioner at Light of Christ Church and will be remembered as a loving husband and father, and a doting grandfather. Ramon is preceded in death by his mother, Consuela Vega; father, Ramon Solis; and brother, Oscar Solis. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia; daughters, Laura Smith of Great Falls, VA and Diana Solis of Denver, CO; grandchildren Grace and Davis Smith of Great Falls, VA; sister, Socorro Solis and brother, Jaimé Solis both of Chihuahua, Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday March 13 from 6-8 pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.
