WRIGHT, Daniel Marvin was born in Jefferson County, AL on April 23, 1930, the first of four children born to Bliss and Velma Wright. He died on March 10, 2014 in his home with loved ones surrounding him. He is predeceased by his parents; his only sister, Verta May; and his oldest daughter, Debbie West. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Wright; two brothers, Jimmy and Wayne Wright, both of Alabama. Also he is survived by two daughters, Dana Holmes and Dee Parr and her husband Kenny Parr; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952 and after specialized training served at the naval yards in the greater Jacksonville area. He started several air-conditioning and heating companies in Alabama and Florida; most notably The Dan Wright Corp. in New Port Richey in 1973. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of New Port Richey where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, and youth advisor. He was a father figure and mentor to countless young people and always served his Lord and Savior faithfully in multiple ways throughout the years. A viewing will be Friday, March 14, 2014 at Dobies Funeral Home located at 6616 Congress Street, New Port Richey, 34653 from 5-7pm. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of New Port Richey located at 6800 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, March 15, 2014 at 5pm with reception and sharing to follow. The family asks in lieu of flowers for donations to be sent in Dan's honor to the First Baptist Church.
