JERNIGAN, John A. 67, died March 9, 2014 at Pepin Heart Institute at Florida Hospital Tampa, from a heart attack suffered seven weeks earlier. John was born in Gainesville, FL, graduated from Gainesville High School in 1965, and in 1971 with a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Florida. John then moved to Tampa to practice Architecture. He worked for several architectural firms before opening his own firm in the eighties where he practiced until his death. John is survived by his brother, Dell (Beth) Jernigan of Milton, FL; nephew, Jeff (Tonia) Jernigan of Pensacola, FL; several cousins, many friends, and his beloved dog Cinco. He will be greatly missed by all. John's wish was to be cremated with no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, he wanted donations be made to local pet rescue shelters or similar organizations nurturing and caring for homeless pets.
