FLYNN, Virginia D. "Jinny" 97, born in Bridgeport, CT March 15, 1917 to Charles and Ada Donnelly, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014. Two days after graduating from Danbury State Teacher's College, Jinny married the man of her dreams, Francis X. (Bud) Flynn. They lived for many years in Delaware, before moving to Florida in 1970. Jinny was a teacher both in Delaware, and at St. Jude Cathedral School in St. Petersburg. Following retirement, Jinny spent several years as a volunteer at Northside Hospital in Pinellas Park. In most recent years, Jinny resided at Arbor Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Jinny's family would like to thank the many nurses and assistants at Arbor Oaks, who made her last few years so comfortable, as well as the Hospice nurses who assisted Jinny during the last days of her life. Her husband, Bud, her son, James F., and her daughter, Maureen F., predeceased Jinny. She is survived by her daughter Barbara F. Wolstenholme (Bill), her daughter Patricia F. Kranik (Michael); grandchildren, Brian, Jennie, Amy, Kim, Paul, Megan, Nicholas; 10 great-grandsons, and 2 great-granddaughters. Donations can be made to Suncoast Hospice. Visitation will take place at Brett Funeral Home Tuesday, 6-8 pm, with a prayer service at 6:30 and a funeral mass will take place at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle at 10 am Wednesday.
