FARNSWORTH, Vernon R. of St. Petersburg, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014, the day of his 80th birthday. A native of Springfield, MA, his career encompassed the investment field, banking, business development and consulting. In addition, he served in political office, being elected to 4 terms in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, followed by an appointment by the Governor to the ABCC (Alcohol, Beverage, Control Commission.) Vern loved politics, the study of our U.S. Constitution and helped on numerous campaigns. Vern leaves behind a son, Jon, of Boca Raton; and dau-ghter, Connie Bladon (Andrew) of Tampa; his wife, Elise; granddaughter, Allison Welter (Chris) of Tampa; former wife, Connie Farnsworth of Tampa; and six stepchildren. Vern had a passion for business, history, the Arts, and served on numerous not for profit boards including a term as Interim President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. He also valued the time spent and friendships made, as a member of ASPEC and Isla Del Sol. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in his memory to Bay Area Chamber Foundation, Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay, or WEDU. The family would like to thank Suncoast Hospice for their care and compassion.
