CLAUER, Mary age 88, of Stratford Court in Palm Harbor, formerly from the Town-N-Country area of Tampa, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at 12:45 am, at the Suncoast Hospice House Brookside in Palm Harbor. Mary is survived by her children, Joseph Clauer III, Gary Clauer, Terrance Clauer and her daughter-in-laws, Pam and Doreen. Also surviving her are three grandchildren, Jeff, Erin and Adam. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Jr.; her sisters, Helen, Jenny and Theresa; and by her brothers, Andrew, Michael (Bill), John, and Jacob. Mary was born in Hellertown, PA, on May 27, 1925, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Fekete) Porupski. We would like to thank the staff at Stratford Court ALF for helping to make Mary's last year's special. She viewed the staff as her extended family and was happy to call her apartment home. We want to acknowledge the wonderful care provided and say thank you to all those who made her feel special, loved and appreciated. In addition to participating in her faith, Mary enjoyed crocheting, helping with activities and was known to have a sweet tooth. She loved joking with her friends & those close to her understood her own brand of humor. Mary will be missed by her family and friends. A small gathering will take place at the graveside on Sunday, April 27, at 2:30 pm, at the Sunset Memory Gardens, at 11005 US Hwy 301 North, Thonotosassa, FL 33592 in the "Honor section". Pastor Dave Hubbard will be officiating. Interment will follow the ceremony. All of Mary's friends and family are welcome.
