LAMBERT, Vilma 87, of New Port Richey, died Saturday April 23, 2014 at The Marliere Care Center in New Port Richey. She was born in Gardner, MA in 1926, the daughter of Matti and Elma Lehtonen Laitinen. She attended school in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School. She met George Lambert (the love of my life) in 1944 in Boston, and they were married May 31, 1946. Their daughter Nikki was born one year later. The family moved to New Port Richey in 1955, George began building homes and Vilma began working for James Altman Law Offices. She remained there until retiring in the mid 80's. Following their retirement the couple loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and Disney World, making many trips to both often. Vilma loved her family and friends old and new. She was very kind and caring and was also incredibly stubborn according to her loving daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Nikki (Bob) Johnson; three grandchildren, Morgan (Michael) Fatali, Stacy (Rich) Manendez, and Andy (Halie) Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren, Charlie, Lilly, and Chase Johnson, Allyson and Mack Manendez, and Angelo and Mykel Fatali. Vilma requested no sad memorial, only good memories. She and George will both be placed in Sarasota National Cemetery. Friends may direct memorials to the family. Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
