KONING, Robert James Jr. "Bobby" 40, of New Port Richey, died unexpectedly Friday April 25, 2014 at his home. Born Oct. 4, 1973, in Dunedin. He was a lifelong resident of New Port Richey, Pasco county. He attended Ridgewood High School and later earned his GED. He was employed in the construction industry, was proficient at operating equipment and was licensed as a CDL driver. He loved the water, diving and swimming were his favorite pastimes. He loved to cook and often worked part time in the restaurant industry more for the love of preparing food than the money it paid. He was married twice, at a very young age to high school sweetheart, Dawn Jones and together they had a son, Robert James Koning III "Jamie" born Dec. 15, 1992. Later he married Emmanuelle Wright Smith and together they had a daughter, Annorah Rose Koning born March 16, 2003. Bobby was preceded in death by brothers, Darryl Koning in 2007, Andy Mercer in 2008 and Kevin Koning in 2011. His second wife Emmanuelle also died in 2012. In addition to his children, Bobby is survived by his parents Robert James Koning Sr. "Bob" & Rhonda Koning, New Port Richey and his mother Carolyn Kelling of New Port Richey; and a sister, Allison Mercer-Evans of Spring Hill; many nieces & nephews; and extended family. He was deeply loved and will be missed. Visitation for Bobby will be at Dobies Funeral Home, Congress Chapel, New Port Richey Friday evening 6-8 pm and his funeral service will be 10 am Saturday morning May 3 at Gulfview Grace Brethren Church 6639 Hammock Road, Port Richey, Pastor Jim Poynter officiating.
