MYERS, William J. 96, of Dunedin, passed away May 23, 2014. Bill was born Jan. 12, 1918, in New Brighton, PA, to Cora Belle Moore Myers and William Larry Myers. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943 to 1946 as an airplane mechanic and assistant crew chief. He was employed by St. Joe Lead Company (St. Joe Minerals) in Monaca, PA, from 1939 until his retirement as general foreman in 1978 when he relocated to Dunedin. In addition to his parents and two sisters, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 59 years, Dorothy Perkins Myers, in 2000, and his son, Larry Pierce Myers, in 2001. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Carolyn White Myers, Dunedin; son, Terry L. Myers (Eleanor) of Fort Mill, SC; daughter-in-law, Carol Myers, Lewisville, TX; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Mease Manor auditorium, 700 Mease Plaza, Dunedin, on June 21, 2014 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, 421 Main Street, Dunedin, FL 34698, or Mease Manor Foundation, 700 Mease Plaza, Dunedin, FL 34698. Cremation arrangements were handled by Curlew Hills Funeral Home, Palm Harbor, FL.
