CHEEZEM, Carol Tisdale of St. Petersburg, passed away July 7, 2014. Named after her great-grandfather, Captain Carroll White, Carol Tisdale was born on the family farm in Mayesville, SC on the 24th of April, 1931. She graduated from nursing school in Sumter, SC in 1951 and was married to Charles K. Cheezem from 1950 to 1983. After moving to St. Petersburg in 1951, she devoted herself to family, church, and civic work raising three sons, Charles Kenneth, John Michael, and David Christopher. She became a devoted member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in St. Petersburg in 1958 and served as a volunteer in the public schools, including being the PTA president at North Shore Elementary. In addition to two of her sons, she is survived by her sisters, Rose Tomlinson and Miriam Griffing; daughters-in-law, Anne Mayer Cheezem, Melissa Behnke, and Katherine White Cheezem; and grandchildren, Andrew Pilkington, Bryan Christopher, Tiffany Joy, and James & Thomas Woodrow. She had a great love of God and a great love for her fellow man. Her greatest joy was in giving to and serving others as well as following the teachings and demonstrations of Christ Jesus.
