BORDEN, Richard Kent 60, of Old Town, passed away June 8, 2014 with his loving wife Jane, Brian, Felicity, and Cody by his side. He was born in Brooklyn NY and moved with his family to St. Petersburg when he was just 2 years old. Richard was an ocean going tug boat captain. He worked for Kirby Marine, retiring in Sept of 2013. After retiring, his dream was to move to his and Jane's property in Dixie County, FL. He enjoyed his retirement for about six months. He loved being on his tractor and working the land. When not working outside, he would venture out on day trips or out on his boat fishing. He also enjoyed listening to rock and country music. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jane Borden; brother, Gerry; sisters, Amanda and Cindy; sons, Chris Borden of Pembroke Pines, Brian (Felicity) Wood of St. Petersburg; grandchildren, Cody Wood, Brooke Borden, and Brandon Bush. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Rona Borden and grandchildren Josie and Toby Wood. Family will receive friends Saturday, July 26, from 10-12 noon at Palm Lake Christian Church, 5401 22nd Ave. N. St. Petersburg. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1301 N.
