KEANE, Michael J. age 66, Executive Vice President of Creative Contractors, died at Morton Plant Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, of complications following heart bypass surgery. He was born on May 1, 1943, in Liverpool, England to the late James and Alice Forster Keane. He attended the University of Liverpool and served an apprenticeship as a carpenter for his father until he migrated to the United States in 1965. On Dec. 20, 1968, he was married to Jeanne C. Healy in Rockville Centre, NY. Mr. Keane and his family moved to Dunedin, in 1974. Soon after arriving, he joined Creative Contractors, which was then known as Storebuilders, where he worked for 35 years in commercial construction management. He rose there to the position of Executive Vice President. In 1998, Michael became a naturalized American citizen. He was an active coach of Palm Harbor Recreational Soccer for 15 years. He served as a Director on the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board. Michael is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his son and his wife, Michael F. and Jayla; his son Christopher; his son and his wife Gregory and Bari; three grandchildren, Quinn Keane, Michael C. Keane, and Katherine (Katie) Keane; one brother, Edward Keane, Liverpool, England; two sisters, Alice Murphy, Liverpool, England; Vera Boyd, Bundaberg, Australia. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and many, many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. A wake for Michael J. Keane will be held at 6 pm to 8 pm on both Wednesday, Oct. 7 and Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Funeral Home. A mass in Michael's honor will be held at 10 am on Friday, Oct. 8, at St. Cecelia's Roman Catholic Church in Clearwater, with a burial service immediately following at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, Palm Harbor.
