GRIFFITH, Frederick Michael "Mike" 76, of St. Petersburg, Mike passed away on Oct. 29, 2010. He is survived by wife Jean; sons Mike Schaul (Anita), Green Cove Springs, FL; Jon (Heidi), Bridgeport, WV; David (Becky), Charleston, WV; Joe (Tracy), Seffner, FL; ten grandchildren Ben, Nathan, Jacob, Marinda, Zachary, Emily, Michael, Sam, Leo, Olivia; brother Don (Sharon); and special friend Patsy. A graduate of Stonewall Jackson H.S. and the University of Cincinnati, Mike was a 45-year resident of Charleston, WV, but lived the last 30 years in St. Petersburg. He was most known for his generosity, volunteer work, and watercolor painting. Mike was a nationally recognized graphic artist. In Charleston, Mike worked for the Charleston Gazette and then the Diamond Department Store. Prior to retirement, he worked for the St. Petersburg Times in the art department. A brief graveside memorial service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Graceland Memorial Gardens located at 100 Graceland Circle, South Charleston, WV 25309. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice of the Florida Sun Coast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
