BOARDMAN, Bluma Eleanor (Miller) Passed away at Menorah Manor, St. Petersburg, Dec. 26, 2011 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's Disease. Mrs. Boardman was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Charles, in 2000. She was born in New Haven, CT, March 13, 1916 and lived most of her life there until retiring to Longboat Key, FL in the mid-70s. She worked side-by-side with her husband in the silver and pewter industry at Joseph C. Boardman, Silversmiths, in New Haven and later in Wallingford, CT. In her early years she studied and practiced physical therapy and produced many magnificent anatomical drawings. She and her husband spent many happy years on Longboat Key where they continued their activities at Temple Beth Israel. She was a member of Hadassah and the Temple Sisterhood. They moved to Anchin Pavilion Assisted Living in 2000 where she resided until moving to Menorah Manor in 2007. Mrs. Boardman's passing is mourned by three children, Priscilla Adelman (Martin), Burton (Leigh) and Barbara Johnson (Lloyd); seven grand-children; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Jacqueline Greenberg (David), as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at the Temple Beth Israel Cemetery, 5200 Fruitville Road, Sarasota at 11 am. A Shivah service will be held that evening at 5 pm at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Martin Adelman, 16307 Avila Blvd., Tampa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Boardman's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or one's favorite charity. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Sarasota, in charge of the final services.
