God rest your soul Dawn. Although I haven't seen you in years, at various times I think of you while either speaking with our former classmates and/or Soriety Sisters. May your family find peace in all the good you've done throughout your life. Rest.

My son turns 40 this month, but I'll never forget when he was starting 4th grade and I asked him about his new teacher. "She makes me feel special," he said. A real tribute to a gifted lady.

Mike, Chelsea, and Hannah,
Dawn lived a wonderful life: you -- her closest family --and the church full of family and friends on Monday are but a small fraction of the many, many lives we know she touched in a very special way. We hope you were able to celebrate her life yesterday -- on her birthday -- and that this brings comfort and peace.

I am so saddened to be writing this. I
knew Dawn from days when she taught with
me at Gingerbread with 4 year olds and
on from there to Shorecrest where she taught and was the computer instructor.
She was a loving and kind person and I
will always remember her warm smile and her sincere love of teaching and children.

The Leavengoods are heartbroken that such a wonderful person was taken from us too soon but take comfort in the fact that Dawn is in heaven and God has put her in charge of His curriculum.

October 26, 2012

Dawn was a wonderful, helpful educator and person. I just keep seeing her smiling face greeting my child in car line at Shorecrest. She made them and me feel so welcome. She will be missed tremendously but we were lucky to have her in our lives. She was a special soul!
