Dawn Michelle Knauf WEINMAN

WEINMAN, Dawn Michelle Knauf 57, passed away peacefully at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, on Oct. 22, 2012. A native of Binghamton, NY, Dawn was born to Richard and Edna Knauf on Oct. 30, 1954. She attended North High School in Binghamton, received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Geneseo, and achieved her Masters in Education from the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg. Dawn touched the lives of thousands of children, families, and teachers during her 33+ years at Shorecrest Preparatory School where she served as a third grade teacher, technology teacher, Curriculum Dean, and Assistant Head of Lower Division. Dawn cherished every interaction she had with the students whether it was during car line, walking down the hallway, or while visiting classrooms. Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Michael; daughters, Hannah and Chelsea; and son-in-law, Francisco Zamora. She is also survived by her brothers & sisters-in-law, Richard & Jeanette Knauf of Rockville, MD, and Edward & Marilyn of Bellingham, WA; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 29th, 10 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1800 12th Street North, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am.
