SWIFT, Thom Brian 45, of St. Petersburg, died on Dec. 6, 2012. Thom was born in Lansing, MI on Aug. 16, 1967. He was a graduate of Indiana University and worked as a Senior Operations Manager with Florida Blue in Tampa. Thom had a passion for music, a fine appreciation for the arts and a sincere love for animals. His favorite pastime was the world of competitive drum and bugle corps, Drum Corps International (DCI). Survivors include his beloved and loving mother, Sharon Rodgers of Pinellas Park. Thom was predeceased by his dear brother, Brent Swift who passed away in 1991. Also surviving are his uncle, Mark Chase of Pinellas Park; his dad, Vance Swift; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Thom leaves behind his close and devoted friends with whom he shared a special bond. Thom was an all around great guy who loved his many friends and co-workers who meant so much to him. A celebration of Thom's life will take place on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the Brett Funeral Home, 4810 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, between 6-8 pm, with a chapel service at 6:30 pm. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Rodgers, 82056 G Street North, Pinellas Park, FL 33781 or to SPCA of Tampa Bay in memory of Thom B. Swift.
