JOHNSON, Lieutenant Commander Frank R. Jr. "Papa" age 86, of St. Petersburg, was called home to the Good Lord on Saturday, June 8, 2013, to be with his wife, Rose Johnson "Nana." Papa was a man of honor, a father, a grandfather, a husband, a brother, a mentor, a teacher and a good friend to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Papa proudly served his country for 30 years in the United States Navy. Most of all, papa served his family, his friends, and his community. Papa was survived by his brother, Paul Johnson; his sons, Frank R. Johnson Jr. II and Stanley R. Johnson; his grandchildren, Frank R. Johnson Jr. III, Stanley R. Johnson II, Danielle Johnson, Jennifer Johnson; and his great-grandchildren, Nathan Johnson and Lily Rose Johnson. A service is being held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Clearview United Methodist Church, 4515 38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33713 at 10 am. The service will be followed by a 12:20 pm, grave side, military honors service at Bay Pines National Cemetary, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd North, Bay Pines. A gathering will be held shortly thereafter at the Elks Lodge #1224, 2675 66th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710. Papa will be greatly missed by his Family. As papa meets our Dear Lord God, I can hear God say to papa, "Bravo Zulu!" Well Done!
