BUTTERS, Robert Dale Sr. 89, of the Mainlands, Pinellas Park. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away at Palms of Pasadena on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, due to complications of cancer. Dale was born Aug. 20, 1924 in Brockway, PA. He became a resident of Nutley, NJ for 32 years where he lived and raised his family with his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Phyllis R. Butters. Dale was a proud Navy veteran of WWII, and was a member of the Elks Lodge of Nutley, (Lodge25), Nutley Masons, American Legion, member of Franklin Reformed Church, and active in Little League. He relocated to Pinellas County in 1986, and Mainlands in 1999 where he was very active in golf and bowling leagues, and socializing with his neighbors of 90th Terrace. He was predeceased by wife, Phyllis; daughters, Gail Ann Butters and Dolores May. He is survived by daughter, Sandy Lane Pelletier (Mark); son, Bobby (Debbie); his grandchildren, Melanie, D.J. (Celeste), Ryan (Nikki), Shealee (Andrew), Kyle; great-grandchildren, Jay, Madison, Gavin, Mylee, Landon, Sienna and Matilda; his sister, Reneatha Shick (Paul); his brother, Delbert (Elise); sister-in-law, Shirley Heidersberger; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be Wednesday, Sept. 18th, from 5:30 pm, until service time at 6:30 pm, at Brett Funeral Home, 4810 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
